HurricaneDennisStatewide Regional Evacuation Study Program

Following the destructive hurricane seasons of 2004 and 2005, the State of Florida’s Legislature appropriated $29 million for the purpose of hurricane evacuation planning.  The Statewide Regional Evacuation Study Program began in 2006 as a direct result of this funding.

Each region in Florida now has a Regional Evacuation Study (RES), that while unique to its region, was completed using the same methodology as the other regions across the State.  The Apalachee RES was originally published in 2010 with revisions and updates in 2014 and 2015.  Volume 1 – Technical Data Report serves as a summary of the RES and includes the Executive Summary.  Below is a listing and links to each volume.
